ABOUT ABOUT

Engaging in healthy and effective communication exchanges is a form of cleansing for Black men that is longed for daily. Black men seldom offer the right words when expressing emotions or sharing inner thoughts, feelings, frustrations, and perspectives until it's too late. If a pic is worth a thousand words, this documentary is worth a thousand restored legacies.

Sound Off is a poetic visualization of authencity regarding the Black male perspective on a range of timely subjects and impacts the concept of validation for Black men. The film explores the Black male experience in real time and brings awareness to the realities of what survival looks and sounds like for Black men in 2019.

Join in on the experience as the Directors Dr. Herman I. Pryor Jr. and Jay Dixon of Dixon Films navigate and communicate snapshots of the Black male experience through a collective of perspectives while connecting audiences to the vulnerabilities, perspectives, inherited labels, stereotypes, roles, and expectations of the all Black male cast.

As Black men seek to define and control their narratives, immediacy and empathy are expelled imparting more awareness from this collective. The self-imprisonment of Black men and our perspectives and voices keeps us powerless. This independent film explores why silence can longer be our maker.

The film will be followed by a Q&A Session where you'll be able to meet cast members, production team, and the Directors and ask questions regarding the project. See screening schedule below:
